The local franchise of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) meets the KC Titans Saturday at Truman High School in the Kansas City suburb of Independence, Missouri. Kickoff is at 7 pm.

The SLAM (4-0) kept their record perfect last Saturday with a 77-0 drubbing of the Iowa Phoenix in Des Moines.

St. Louis, the WFA’s Tier II National Champion in 2016 and 2017, returned to the turf this past April after a one-season reorganizational absence.

Since their return, they have outscored their opponents 171-14 through four games. St. Louis is propelled by a stellar defensive corps paced by Raven Williams, Tiffany Pugh, Brooklyn Devitt, Chelsea Vinson, Pamela Green, Keyonna Smith and a host of others.

The SLAM’s offensive line of Caitlin Erickson, Tammie Moore, Kim Kinsella, Marion Ball and a host of others propels the scoring attack consisting of running backs Taylor Hay and Mary Altepeter while quarterback Jaime Gaal and receivers Danielle Price, Kaylee Kneutzling, Jamie Skinner provide the aerial attack.

St. Louis defeated their Show-Me State rival in mid-April 28-8 at home in a contest that was a six-point game heading into the fourth quarter. The SLAM outscored the Titans 14-0 in the final frame to claim victory.

Quarterback Liz Sowers scored the lone touchdown for the Titans in that meeting via a fake punt.

Kansas City is winless so far (0-4) but every contest was snared by their opponents late. The Titans suffered a 7-0 loss to Minnesota Vixen last Saturday with a touchdown claimed with under ten minutes left.

The Titans are looking to claim their first win and gain a split over the SLAM.

St. Louis returns home to face Minnesota on Saturday, May 25.
